The Govanstowne Business Association (GBA) was established in 1980 as one of nine Retail Business Districts throughout the City of Baltimore. The GBA district boundaries include businesses that are in the area that extends from the city/county line to 43rd street, along the York Road corridor. A portion of the mandatory Retail Business District License (RBDL) fees paid by the businesses to Baltimore City are provided to the nine RBDL districts, to be used for business promotions, to encourage shopping and for part-time staffing. Each district's Board determines the use of these RBDL fees, so business input is requested, and participation is encouraged, in order that all voices are heard.

The GBA Board members include businesses, non-profit organizations, community members and Baltimore City representatives. The Board is comprised of business representatives from three diverse business districts, including York-Belvedere, York-Woodbourne, and York-Coldspring. Board members are volunteers, and currently we are without and Executive Director, until further notice. Board members are volunteers. GBA is a non-profit corporation, and Board meetings are generally held every two months, currently at 8:30 AM breakfast, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM Meeting on the second Tuesday of alternate months. All businesses are welcome and encouraged to attend. In order for GBA to spend the funds in accordance with all of our members' wishes we need your input.
