GBA works towards getting available grants and loans to be used for the business interests.
2006
- The Govanstowne Business Association was awarded a 2007 State of Maryland Neighborhood BusinessWorks Grant for façade improvements and streetscape improvements! (link to application, Pending)
- GBA applied for, and received, another Parks & People Grant in the Fall of 2006, to continue the York Road beautification with additional tree pit and streetscape planter plantings. (link to application, attached)
2005
· Improvements to the Bellona Triangle, were implemented, thanks to a Baltimore City capitol improvement grant! (link to images and plan - click here)
· GBA applied for and received another Parks & People Grant in the Spring of 2005, to continue the York Road beautification with additional tree pit and streetscape planter plantings.
2004
· A Parks & People, GBA Streetscape Greening 2004 grant was successfully granted and completed in the fall.
2003
· Community Legacy Grant application to improve the Coldspring Business District was unsuccessful. YRP and BDC prepared the application, GBA provided a portion of funding required for the application.
· In 2003, Main Streets Designation application was unsuccessful, however GBA was awarded Main Street Affiliate status, which offers wonderful opportunities and benefits the Govans area. (link to Main Street page - click here)
